As reminder to all of us , the food watse contribute upto 50% of our landfills today. So, fill your compost bins but not the landfill.
Everyhome should do their part to lengthen the life of our landfill sites. We have shown before if everyone concern do their little bits to go for home composting, the impacts are big upto 50% increament in the landfill life span.
Get a reasinable size bins, approximately 50 gallons, few tips;
- Ensure the bins sits on solid sunny ground
- Ensure the top are water tight
- Lets air flow through upper on the side small holes
- Do not compost cooked food, meet of fish
- Everything else that is biodegardable is ok to compost
- Try balance between green and brown material
